I remember one of the all time favourite quotes from a movie....
'Terminator" series of movies has the hunk Arnold saying " i will be back ".n the IPL is back......n its getting bigger n better...with bigger stars ( Kevin Pieterson n Andrew Flintoff to name a few), more Bollywood endorsement( Shilpa Shetty, who else....) and bigger money involved.
The initial thought process at the IPL being shifted to South Africa was that of sadness at the prospect of losing out the thrill to watch live matches. Last year, I witnessed the mesmerising spell of Shoaib Akhtar to Delhi Daredevils at the evergreen Eden Gardens in Kolkata. I was hoping of similar action at the home turf this time.
But looking again at the situation, it seems a boon for the game rather than a bane. The flagship event of BCCI(Board of Control for Cricket in India) being shifted to another continent(for elections in our country) has given the game a totally new dimension.
I just cant wait for the event to take offf..........
